POSITION: Administrative Assistant

REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor

HOURS: 20 Hours Weekly

OVERVIEW: Detroit Church is seeking a gifted and motivated Administrative Assistant to manage tasks to keep the church office running smoothly. This individual will also fully embrace the mission, vision, values and beliefs of Detroit Church.

OUTCOMES: Detroit Church’s Administrative Assistant will work closely with the Pastor and Executive Administrator. The individual serving in this role will:

COMPETENCY:

• Experienced in Google Docs, Microsoft Office and Apple products• Ability to learn Church Management Software (Church Community Builders)

• Working knowledge of office technology• Proficient in writing and editing skills

• Embrace and adapt to growth, change, innovation and creativity.

• Use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality.

• Have a cooperative, healthy and motivating relationship with leaders, co-laborers and volunteers.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Lead Pastor and team with administrative tasks

• Scheduling Meetings• Maintain Church Calendar

• Maintain Church Database

• Facilitate communications between Staff, volunteers and members

• Attend Tuesday Staff meetings 

Detroit Kid's Teacher

Detroit Kids Mission

To create a dynamic children’s ministry that equips families to disciple their children, and

equips children to know the Lord, know the Bible, know what they believe, and how to

communicate it at their level in a fun atmosphere filled with love and acceptance.

Purpose

To introduce children to Jesus and lead them into a growing relationship with Him through an

interactive, Scripture-based program

Overall Responsibilities

● Pray for the children and families enrolled in Detroit Kids

● Participate in regular meetings with other Detroit Kids teachers and ministry director

● Commit to a teaching schedule at the beginning of each semester & communicate with

alternate teacher and ministry director in the event you are unable to teach on a

scheduled day

● Spend an average of at least 3 hours in study, prayer, and preparation for each lesson

● Communicate in advance to ministry director about supplies that may be needed

● Communicate with schedule parent assistant about the plan for the week

● Arrive as early as needed to have all on-site activity preparation finished a half hour

before service starts and join other staff & volunteers for prayer

● Be Spirit-led in preparation and teaching

● Cooperate with and uphold safety measures instituted by the Kids Church team

● Participate in parent group chat by being available to answer questions that may arise

regarding the lessons

Detroit Kid's Director

POSITION: Kids Director

REPORTS TO: Lead Pastor 

HOURS: 10-15 Hours Weekly


OVERVIEW:

Detroit Church is seeking a gifted and motivated Kids Director to steward Detroit Church’s mission and vision for kids ministry. This individual will also fully embrace the mission, vision, values and beliefs of Detroit Church.

Outcomes:

Detroit Church’s Kids Ministry Director will work closely with the Leadership Team to create and implement a dynamic discipleship program for families. The individual serving in this role will:

  • Experienced in program and budget management.

  • Have excellent oral and organizational skills

  • Embrace and adapt to growth, change, innovation and creativity.

  • Use appropriate judgment in the areas of discretion, sensitivity and confidentiality.

  • Have a cooperative, healthy and motivating relationship with leaders, co-laborers and volunteers and parents.

Responsibilities

    • Prayerfully seek vision for children and families at Detroit Church while working with church leadership for the families and children of Detroit Church.

    • Plan creative engaging environments for Sunday (physical and/or virtual) and special events including recommendations of curriculum.

    • Provide spiritual and organizational leadership and clear direction to the teaching teams while building community and offering support.

  • Manage online database (CCB)

    • Manage social media account

    • Manage the monthly and yearly budget

    • Manage schedules for volunteers

  • Actively recruit, train and inspire new volunteers

  • Other tasks as assigned by supervisor
